MY NAME IS EMILY
Before I was Emily Harper Beard, I was Emily Frances Harper and working to establish myself in Nashville as artist e.f.harper. These days, my friends have simply resorted in calling me "EFHB." I will gladly answer to both, or you can just call me "Emily."
As an artist I am always looking to be part of a new and exciting project. While I am a believer that there's not too much my two hands cannot create if I simply put my mind to it, my primary focus as an artist is learning more about the process of batik. Batik is a patterned cloth that is traditionally made using a manual wax-resist dyeing technique. For more than 15 years, I have enjoyed learning more about the unique process of batik and allowing it to document my own life experiences.
